Hi all

need some advice from the folks here. i am changing my tyres and like some advise:

1) currently running Potenza RE001Asymentric. Cant complain about it, but the wear is not too good. After 1 yr and 15k or so, i have around 40% life in them. If i do not have other options, i can go back to these tyres, but like to try other brands out-backside itchy.
Any kind recommendations?

2) I am on 17inch, so the specs of the tyres must be 225/50/17, in owners manual. can i opt for 225/45 instead, as this will wide increase my options. What happens if i choose 225/45?

Try this website.
The nifty application measures the OD and tyre width, and lets you compare the differences.

http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html

Your speedo will be out by 3.4%. Your speedo will show 100km/h when you are doing 96.6km/h.

Hi all, also looking for advice for new tyres.

My stock front tyres (F1s) are already getting worn out at about 26,000km. Pretty satisfied with the grippy tyres except that the wear rate seems a little fast.

Read that there are new F1 Asymmetrical tyres available. Any idea how this compares with the old F1 G3D3s?

Thanks in advance. :)

haha, din realise that till now.

Well for update, i just changed my tyres to Yokohama S Drive. Not too bad actually, 220 per piece. At the moment it's less noisy than my original RE001. It almost feels like i m driving on air but yet i can feel the road better than RE001.

In terms of grip, it loses out just a bit, otherwise i think its not bad.

lastly, its not asymetric, not sure if this matters to discerning drivers.
