Led by AROC MY, Quest For The Silk Trail was a co-ordinated effort by 3 major Alfa Romeo Owners' Clubs in South East Asia.Encompassing major destinations like Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok and ending in Vientiane. With participants from AROC MY, AROC SG and ACT, it was the furthest destination driven to by the Clubs.

The convoy of cars consisted of the current range of Alfa Romeos - 159, Brera, GT - as well as older models such as the 164 and GTV. The event itinerary coincided with the Alfa Day celebrations just outside of Bangkok, allowing models spanning across 30 years to make their presence felt with the spirit and passion for Alfa Romeo.

The event was made possible with the support of EuroAutomobile (SG), Sime Darby Auto Connexxion (MY) and Thai Prestige (TH)

Annual Dinner 2009

AROC SG signed off 2009 with its Annual Dinner, bringing together Alfisti in Singapore as well as Malaysia. The night's programme featured table games and lucky draws for all including the children. The Club offered a review of the events and activities it had organised for the year, including the reveal of the results from the Alfa Romeo Trail 2009 (ART2009) that was organised in September. ART was challenge of navigational skills within Singapore using a combination of directions, clues, and driver ingenuity. The winning duo was the team of Ludwig, a new 159 owner, and Roman.

The dinner also served as the backdrop for the Club's Charity Fundraiser. This year, the Club had selected Sanctuary House (http://www.sanctuaryhouse.com.sg/) which  provides niche services of crisis pregnancy services and specialised family education programmes. Donations had been collected in the months leading up to dinner, at which point, it was presented to the night's guest-of-honour, Mr Noel Tan, co-founder and Programme Manager for the organisation.

With 2010 beckoning, several activity plans were also presented to those in attendance. It is a significant year for the Alfa Romeo as it will be celebrating 100 years. Aside from a planned visit to Italy for the celebrations, Alfisti in Singapore can look forward to 'local' celebrations too (more information to come in the coming months).
